about

This is a song about family ties, and how we can be divided or bound together by them. I discuss my own feelings and experiences on this topic here. It was good to have Mayah on the track as well - some of you may remember here featuring on older tracks Go Away (From The Hostel) iand Hangover (Phoenix Down).

lyrics

My sister don’t say goodbye,

I wish I could make it right

But that’s just the way of life

I’m sorry that we lost touch, many years have come between us

Should have been that voice believe it

But it weren’t my choice to leave just

Understand it’s what I needed

Freedom to express my feelings

Building my own family but

Never stopped thinking of you

You have my surname and I’ve seen there’s

some of my familiar features

In your face they’re buried deep cause

We are both from the same crew/

Our fathers still with you but me I’m dead to him

Even though I had respect for him he thought I disrespected him

But I’m still his next of kin

And I got rejected in/

The hardest time of my life but that’s why I became super strong and accepted things

I’m glad we reconnected in

Social media

Instant insta messaging

You look so grown up last time I seen you you were just a kid now you’re as fly as I was back then

When you’re ready come and find me bring our little brother we’ll try again

Baba thinks that I have sinned

But he did the exact same thing

Did you know we have another brother and sister since

before he met your mum back then

They were twins he kept a secret

spoke to our sister online and

I don’t think she wants to meet up let’s hope one day we’ll be fine cause/

My sister don’t say goodbye,

I wish I could make it right

But that’s just the way of life

I love my mother so much,

She’s messed up but don’t we all

Gave drinking up will never budge

Dealt with enough still standing tall/

Thank god for you and my four brothers

I’m so proud of us

No one can touch us

Been through some stuff achieved so much

You’re all grown up

I feel choked up with emotion/

My brothers well I’m so impressed

You all excel and your the best

Uncles my son could ever get

I know you’ve seen my times of stress

But we’re a team and I am blessed

To have a family so exceptional:

We’re on point like a decimal/

This is my testimonial

I’ve watched you all grow from small

When your at uni I phone you all

We all come from these Lithos stony walls

Though I know I’m not a role model/

I do try hard my heart, is now stronger than Bruce in die hard

We had nothing to lose so why not

Pull up ourselves by our boots and try plot/ my God

I do feel bad for the loss of the other side but I’m happy that we’re here in fact

I know our mum has succeeded at

Raising us five kids four are academic geniuses and one of them can really rap

Without you lot life would be so crap

Can’t please everyone It’s deep but that’s

The price in life I willingly paid but never forget that I’m here when you need me back/

- Mayah's bridge -

(Dekay) How can some fathers create life and then leave so easily

Severed-keeping free they’re forever leaving the

Consequence on children’s shoulders and it never needs to be X2

Seen it frequently

That’s just deep to me
