about

I think this is the perfect way to finish the album - with an anthem. This sums up pretty much where my mind is currently at as well. Faye (who featured on previous tracks such as Heatwave Killah (The Broken Lifts Mixtape) and Defend Yourself (The Meaning Of Life) provides us with some beautiful vocals on the hook.
Real redemption and empowering vibes here.

lyrics

I’m stronger now, than I was before

Strong enough that I can do much more

Without you

I’m stronger now than I was before

Strong enough that I can do it alone

Without you

This is my favourite memory, I’ll take myself there when my life gets tough

When no one else cares and I’m fighting on the side that’s rough

When that horizon isn’t bright enough,

I remember a hot summers day when barbecues were lighting up/

A rainbow struck the sky, casting ultra violet light on us

The sky was clear and blue above the blocks the world was slightly brushed

With golden rays of heat, to the street from every side it rushed

And he contained the lightning buzz that frightening stuff each time we touched/

Balcony windows wide the music played and reggae dealt the vibes

One of those endless moments when I knew how much I felt alive

We danced until the night familiar faces to myself arrived

We needed nothing else to fly that happiness was self contrived/

I’ll tell you why, it’s all in your mind heaven and hell combined

Our memories that dwell enshrined

Are sometimes of the helpful kind

I’m going through a stressful time

There’s people that I’ve left behind

Addiction that suggests I’m fine

But only if I press rewind/

Hook

I’m going clean, no more booze for me keen as I choose to be

Had to admit I really had a problem to be truly free

I’ve died unusually while still alive somewhat unsuitably

And all the while I thought that I used it but it was using me

Those drug filled days eventually caught up and shut me down

Cause I’ve abused my temple and what goes around came back around

My minds so hungry it’s a cannibal that must be drowned

In litres of slow poison, it’s a monarch with a rusty crown

But now it’s revolution I don’t need you I won’t suffer now

Suffering suffocating somehow debating how to cut it out

Like addiction was written on paper deep in my brain to cut around

I’m screaming and calling for saviours but I don’t make a single fucking sound

So how do I deal with my tendencies? Let me withdraw to my memories

Humans are full of resilience and that’s the brilliance of living desperately

Set me free you ain’t getting me

Now I can live independently

So each time that I fail I try and prevail this ain’t the end of me

Sometimes I feel like I could be so much more than I am, more than I am, more than I am

Sometimes I feel like I could be so much more than I am

No morality no respect forever listen

Expect my visions too different for all their set traditions

Selected wisdom imprisoned in all their clever prisons

Been fed submission It’s the same deadly repetition/

Hello Britain I’m telling ya let’s rebel the systems

Full of traps like a rat infested flat that’s never lived in

And television is full of this heedless hedonism

So I’m about to switch it on like an electrician/

Have people terrified like its audio terrorism

Mellow spittings never been my style more like a head collision,

Dead your missions get them to the morgue it’s extradition

My low blows’ll bring you down like pessimism/

Down down down, I got them extra symptoms

Me leaving music would be like Homer left the Simpsons

I Got my own morality but no respect I’ll rinse them

The sharp edge of my tongue, will sever limbs from victims/

Hook

I’ve seen it all my life and now I need to tell you properly

Realise that homeless persons you without your property

Real life and talents priceless and can shine through poverty so

Tell me how we’re equal when the rich create the policies/

The kids need education that don’t stifle their speech

And old people in this nation freeze and die in their sleep

Like all of us here on this planet I’m just trying to keep

My head above the icy water that’s enticingly deep/

Lifes a bit peak like it’s shit creek

I’m unfit weak fight and get beat

Twice in six weeks tired of this street

While the kids eat Rice and split peas/

Day and night I need money so I can get meat

Steaks and salad, some pies or mixed greens

All I can affords pasta rice or chips please

Desperation ain’t nice bruv it reeks!/

Its a reality tv challenge to manage these streets

And mend the mental damaged family tree

We’re rebuilt from the same atoms I just happened to be

Born into certain circular patterns what matters is I’m actually free/
