She was all dressed up looking glam but on her own
With two kids one asleep in the pram one on the phone
Acrylic nails growing out clicking on the chrome
Of the bar half a Guinness and she's sipping on the foam
Why you sitting on your own with your kids I said

She smiled in a sad way said it's risky yes but life wanted to go like this instead
Her name was Cindy but they all called her Cinderella,
And her situation was grim wait till I tell ya
Her stepmother made her go chill in the cellar
Like a can of Stella her stepsisters no better
Her dad had passed away and the housing wouldn't help
The insurance wouldn't pay she was out all by herself
Treated like the bad guy living with her dads wife
And her three ugly sisters just flouted their wealth
That was a cruel season in her life, yet Cinderella grew
Time always flies and somehow you get through
She got left behind as the others went to
The pubs clubs and parties while she had the
Cooking cleaning ironing steaming dreams of not feeling the awful stress
So she borrows a dress from the wardrobe yes
She's going to the club tonight she's been blessed with the gorgeousness
